Want to bag your dove limit and have a chance at a huge buck? Food plots are a great way to attract wildlife, especially dove and deer to your land. Abbott’s has the region’s largest selection of food plot seed by the bag or by the pound and is the creator of the famous Bucky and Big Foot’s Big Buck Blend.
We developed this blend to work in the Southern Virginia and Northern North Carolina Piedmont Region. Typically, a 50# bag plants 1-1/2 acres, and we recommend 400 lbs of pellet lime and 200 lbs of 10-10-10 per acre The components differ depending on the time of year, a sample of each mix:
Typically plant mid-August through end of September for deer season
- Buck Forage Oats
- Winter Peas
- Sugar Beets
